Hello Liberators,
This is Angel and I want to share a few things with you:
I must first shout out my Cohort 1 from TEA (The Equity Alliance). They were the first group of folx to call me a “Liberator” and also call me by my artist name: M.E.
Whether you are finding your purpose through creative arts, seeking a community to support your walk toward liberation & freedom, or just want to support black people doing black things: Thank you.
We have been committed to this work since 2020. Through natural disasters, a pandemic, life/death, tragedy, family dynamics, our government and how we govern ourselves/self awareness - we continue to push toward liberation! Creating community solutions that support the sustainability and longevity of our neighborhoods, artists, and entrepreneurs is pivotal to our livelihood. Having access to a space where we can learn, train, develop, and grow together is life-changing, no matter your age.
On Monday, July 11th, we will be hosting a Lunch&Learn at Liberated Grounds at 12pm. We will also meet during Happy Hour, 5PM, to share with those who were unable to attend during the noon hour. Please RSVP via email for the location. We hope you can make one of the two meetings.
Liberated Grounds is a communal space for local minority artists to thrive. We provide freedom opportunities to create large-scale multimedia works that promote public art activism and collective work and responsibility (Ujima).
We are putting our black dollars and power together to create a communal space to support collective work and responsibility - Ujima. We would like for you to consider being a member at any of the following levels:
LGI is offering three (3) lifetime membership levels at this time:
1) The Founder’s Circle Membership (deadline passed July 1)
2) Charter Membership; and
3) Chapter Membership.
Charter Members- $500 (one time membership fee + 250/annual fee) - paid over 3 months
Chapter Members- $250 (one-time membership fee + $100/annual fee)
Liberated Grounds will open July 2022. If you are not interested in a lifetime membership and would like to support by becoming a monthly "Grounds" sustainer, it is $25/month.
Peace,
~Angel
